Popis
Pink Silicone Lube is a silicone-based lubricant that comes in a 4 oz glass bottle. Its formula blends three silicones (cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone and dimethiconol), and Pink presents it as the most lubricating and longest-lasting in its range. According to the brand, it has no scent or taste, contains no glycerine or parabens, and stands up to water.
Who it suits and who it doesn't
It suits you if you want a lubricant that lasts and doesn't wash away the moment it meets water: that's the strength Pink highlights in its silicone formula. If scented or flavoured lubricants put you off, this one has neither. If you check the label, you'll find a formula free from glycerine and parabens, with added aloe vera and vitamin E.
If you mainly want it for your silicone toys, look for a different lubricant: as it's silicone-based, it's generally best not to use it with that material.
Compatibility
- Water: Pink describes it as water-resistant.
- Skin: The brand states it is hypoallergenic and free from glycerine and parabens. It also contains no fragrance.
General tips
Common good practice for this type of product; these are not the manufacturer's instructions.
- Start with a small amount and add more when you need it; with a condom, apply it to the outside once the condom is on.
- As it's silicone-based, avoid using it with silicone toys, which can be spoilt; with toys made of other materials, test it on a small area first.
- Wipe up anything that drips on the floor straight away: it's very slippery, especially in the shower.
- If you have sensitive skin, test a small amount on the inside of your arm first and wait a while before using it on intimate areas.
- A lubricant is not a contraceptive and doesn't protect against sexually transmitted infections.
How it differs
- LELO Moisturizer: Pink Silicone Lube is silicone-based and water-resistant. LELO Moisturizer is water-based, and LELO states it is suitable for all of its toys. Pink's is the better choice if you're after staying power and water resistance; LELO's is the one to pick if you'll be using it with silicone toys.
- LELO Moisturizer: Both are free from glycerine and parabens and contain aloe vera, but the format and quantity differ: Pink comes in a 4 oz glass bottle, LELO in a 150 ml container.
Our verdict
This is a silicone formula designed to last and withstand water, with few ingredients and no scent, taste, glycerine or parabens. The trade-off is the limitation that comes with its base, and it comes in a glass bottle.
